The Jarman Centre
Newmarket
Girlguiding Cambridgeshire East’s Jarman Centre, located within 13 acres of protected woodland, was constructed 20 years ago and has been in continual use since its inception. AC Architects Cambridge Ltd were called in to rejuvenate the building, fit for a low-energy future.

The building refurbishment included updating the bathrooms and leaders’ accommodation; soundproofing between floors and converting the loft for self-contained use; and a new, low energy servicing strategy including an air source heat pump, solar thermal panels and a heat recovery ventilation system.
