Kitchen 6
Single storey rear extension, loft conversion and garage development, Cambridge
Cambridge

Several alterations were made to this Edwardian terraced house in central Cambridge to adapt the existing dwelling to the needs of a growing family.

With typical proportions of an Edwardian mid-terrace, access to the existing habitable loft space was improved with the implementation of an alternating tread stair. A dormer window increased the available head height within the room as well as transforming the space with natural daylight.

At ground floor, a single storey kitchen and dining extension to the rear and side of the property wraps around the existing outrigger with glazing either side to maintain the existing views to the garden from the main part of the house.

A new garage and side access makes use of the width of the plot and demarcates the boundary lines whilst providing storage and a games room as a breakout space for the family.
