New Hall (Murray Edwards College) Development
New Hall (Murray Edwards College), Cambridge

Providing architectural consultancy for New Hall (Murray Edwards College) for over ten years has led to AC Architects undertaking many and varied projects on their behalf. These projects have been designed to enhance, improve and make the College’s grounds more accessible both in a literal sense and with the objective of increasing the College’s status and appeal within Cambridge and the wider community.

The projects vary from providing advice on New Hall’s property portfolio, preparation of feasibility studies including a new building for residential accommodation, lecture theatre and seminar room through to design of cohesive external grounds.

Working with landscape consultants and the College gardener AC Architects have designed the regeneration of the College’s main entrance court including discreet access ramp, extensive visitor bicycle parking and improved lighting; the bronze medal winning New Hall “chic” garden at Chelsea Flower Show 2007; the refurbishment of the Victorian greenhouse; and the new Storey’s Way College entrance and car park.
